  • Note*: Simeon Guilford and William Moore of Lebanon had various connections. William Moore's wife, Elizabeth Graff, was the maternal aunt of Simeon Guilford's wife, Catharine Elizabeth Doll. William Moore regarded Simeon Guilford as a friend. William Moore's family bible became the family bible of Simeon Guilford. William Moore made bequests to Simeon Guilford and his family.4

  • Note: In his 1841 William Moore of Lebanon appointed "my friend Simeon Guilford" as one of his executors.

    In addition he made bequests to Simeon, his wife and children:

    Item: I give and devise unto Simeon Guilford and Doctor William Moore aforesaid, their heirs and assign forever, Two Tracts of land in Indiana County, Pennsylvania, and any balance owing on a tract of land sold to Soloman Leasure; and I desire deeds to be executed to them for said two tracts of land, by my herein after named executors, or the survivors of them: One of the said tracts of land was let on an improving lease: if Meek Kelly, the agent has sold the lands, then said Guilford & Moore shall have the benefit thereof.

    Item: I give and bequeath unto Catherine Guilford, the wife of Simeon Guilford, in cash one hundred dollars.

    Item: I give and devise unto William Moore Guilford, his heirs and assign forever, the House and Lot fronting on Market Square, now in the occupancy of Simeon Guilford, and numbered in the plan of the Town of Lebanon, with No. 66. - commencing 66 feet from the South side of the Lot No. 67 and extending North to the line of the lot of Jacob Goodhard (?) Esqr. with the appurtenances: Subject nevertheless to leaving the South corner room for the use of the Stove on lot No. 67 during the life of my said wife; I also give and bequeath to said William Moore Guilford Twenty shares of Stock in the Susquehanna Canal Company.

    Item: I give and bequeath unto Mary Ann Doll Guilford Twenty Shares of Stock in the Susquehanna Canal Company.

    Item: I give and bequeath unto Robert Emmet Guilford Twenty Shares of Stock in the Susquahanna Canal Company; and desire that Simeon Guilford be guardian for his children.6
