    The 'Family record of Thomas Moore' document, listing his children, has a daughter born July 1814 with the name portion of the document entirely cracked and missing.

    According to family lore she had eloped, and her mother had erased her name from the family bible.2

    The name of this unnamed daughter may be "Frances Moore".

    This assertion is based on the probate records of Frances Moore (1777-1858), daughter of James Moore of Convoy. In her 1848 will she bequeathed "to my cousin Hetty Moore of Reading the sum of 200 dollars and to her son James Moore the sum of 300 dollars" and also "all the remainder of my furniture". Hetty Moore is Esther Heckman Moore, wife of Thomas. Hetty died in 1856 before the distribution of the Frances Moore estate, so the cash distribution went to her children. The executor, Dr. William Moore knew of her children, and listed them in his 1863 account. In the account, eight are listed, all except John who had died single before the distribution. Of the eight listed, seven are well known (Catharine Arnold, Elizabeth Evans, Lydia M. Wells, Mary Moore, George W. Moore, William Moore, James Moore) and were paid their share. One unfamiliar name is listed - "Frances Moore (not paid)".

    This compiler asserts that Dr. William Moore knew the name of the daughter whose name was illegible in the so called 'Thomas Moore Family Record' document, and that it was Frances Moore. But he apparently did not know her whereabouts nor her name if married, and so was unable to pay her.3
