Notes

  • Note*: Tombstone

As Bertha Cochran Landis transcribed H. S. Gruger's initial transcription:
    "In memory of
    Catharine Graff
    wife of
    Andrew Graff
    born March 19, 1718
    died February 6, 1811"

Presumably the '1718' should be '1748'.7
  • Note: Birth:
It is presumed that Catharine Crawford was born in Pennsylvania, given that her parents immigrated in 1743 and that she was born in 1748.

The location is unknown: Her father is first recorded in Lancaster in 1750. Her birth does not appear in the Lancaster First Reformed records for which the originals are quite legible, nor transcriptions b by Hinke, nor abstracts by Humphrey.
  • Note: "They had seven sons and nine daughters."8
  • Note: Probate: Catharine left no will, but letters of administration were granted.9

Pilgram says he has had the data for 15 years - so the data was created circa 1906.   Guilford--Billy-Guilford-Data--Genealogy-of-Groff-Family.pdf
