Eight hundred acres of land in Burlington Co.; adjoining John Adams, 2400 a. above the Falls of Delaware, 200 a. of a farm sold to brother Ambrose Field, and reserved. Personal estate. Witnesses - Sam'l Jennings, Edward Hunlocke, Ann Jennings, Mary Wheat. Proved and letters testamentary granted to Nathan Allen, trustee and executor of Experience Field November 3, ----. Lib I, p. 88
    "1702 30th d. 3d m. (May). Field, Experience, of Burlington, widow of Benjamin; will of. Children - Robert, Benjamin, Sussannah and Elizabeth, all under age; legacy to Joseph, son of Issak and Sussannah Mariott of Burlington. Real and personal estate. Executors - brother Nathan Allen and brother-in-law Issak Meriott; Edward Rockhill to take the place of executor, if one of those named should die. Father Jedidiah Allen is requested to cast a fatherly eye upon the children. Witnesses - Henry Grubb, Sam'l Furnance, Sam'l Jennings.     "1702 June 29. Inventory of the estate of Benjamin Field and wife (£2254 - incl. 6 silver spoons, and bonds due by John Molein, Rob't Blackshaw, Alex's Furman, Anthony Whitehead, Marmaduke Horsman,John Hyde, Henry Oxley, Nath. Feild, Amrose Feild, Charity Stephens, Samuel Boon, Henry Burr, Moses Pettett, John Chesher, Juda Allen, Samuel Hofmire, Robert Come, Nath. Allen); made by Henry Grubb, Christo Wetherill and Samuel Formis."9
  • Note*: Benjamin Field sold his Newtown, Long Is., land in 1693, and owned land in Burlington County, New Jersey in 1694. He bought and sold land there up until his death in 1702. He is identified as of Chesterfield Township.5
  • Note: "Under date of Jan. 2, 1711/2 he [#416, Eliashib Allen, son of Jedediah], described as of Chesterfield, Gent., conveyed to his brother Nathan 100 acres on a branch of Raritan River which had been given to him in 1702/3 by his brother-in-law Benjamin Field (WJD B:720; BBB:381)."
    "On May 29, 1702, Nathan Allen [#417, son of Jedediah], of the Town of Burlington, late of Freehold, yeoman, was deeded by his sister Experience Field 1650 acres in the present Hunterdon County, previously contracted for with her deceased husband Benjamin Field, and the same day Nathan Allen and Isaac Mariot [Isaac Marriott, Experience Field's brother-in-law] bought, for £1000., all other lands to which Benjamin Field had title at the time of his death.
