"A Minister's Wife Dies.
Death of Mrs. J. F. Pilgram, of Lititz,
After Long Illness.
LITITZ, Sept. 25. - Mrs. J. F. Pilgram, wife of the Rev. Pilgram, of the Reformed church, died yesterday afternoon at 4:45 o'clock at her home on Front street. She had been suffering from consumption for some years, but was seriously ill about twelve weeks. Her age was 51 years. Her maiden name was Lizzie H. Moore, and she was the daughter of the late Dr. William Moore of Womelsdorf. her life was spent at Womelsdorf, Columbia, Greenville, Mercer county and Lititz. The family moved to this place about three years ago, Rev. Pilgram having charges at White Oak and Ephrata. October 7, 1869, she was married to Rev. J. Frederick Pilgram, with whom she passed twenty-five happy years. She was a loving mother, a devoted wife, and a conscientious Christian, and bore her sufferings with patient sweetness.
Seven children survive, namely: William M., of Leesburg, Cumberland county; Frederick N. and George J., Mary A., Herbert E. and Ernest A., the last four residing with their parents. Robert is a student at Franklin and Marshall college, Lancaster. Mrs. Pilgram also has two brothers living, Captain Moore, of Womelsdorf, and Thomas A. Moore, of Reading. The funeral will take place on Thursday at 1 p. m., at Womelsdorf. A short preliminary service will be held at the house, at which some Lititz clergymen will probably officiate."3
