  "Miss Kate Moore Evans died of pulmonary troubles at her residence, 206 Douglass street, in the 34th year of her age. Deceased was born in Reading and was a daughter of David E. and Elizabeth M. Evans, both deceased. She taught the secondary department in the school at Tenth and Green streets. She leaves a brother, William M., foreman of the Chesapeake & Ohio round house, at Richmond, Va., and these sisters: Ettie M., Beckie A., Lydia W. and Margaret Evans. Deceased was a member of Olivet Presbyterian church and was highly esteemed by many friends."¹
