"William Moore eldest brother of Robert Moore late of the Borough of Reading in Berks County singleman decd. George Ege Esq and Michael Wood all of Berks County aforesaid"1 - Note: Tradition:
Judge James Moore of Chester County was Robert's uncle. A short biography, written in 1888, relates a tradition about a nephew Robert Moore. We have no way to determine the truth of the story, nor whether or not this is the same Robert Moore.
"Another nephew, Robert Moore, was engaged in one of the Irish rebellions, and only succeeded in escaping to the United States after hair-breadth escapes from the English soldiers. At one time he was hidden for several days in an oven. Two fine silver-mounted holster pistols, which were carried by him, are preserved in one branch of the family."2
