"Teresa M. Haggerty was a resident of Berks County...and departed this life intestate at 244 North <[South?] St., Reading, Berks Co. Penn. on 18 April 1889...
The only estate held by said Teresa M. Haggerty was a life-estate under will of William Haggerty, deceased of Pottsville, Penna. The remainder of said fund was with John George Haggerty, a son : said John George Haggerty was married to Sidney Taylor Berghaus (now Repplier), and died having children, who died in infancy, having as their heir-at-law, their mother (now Sidney T. Repplier). The present fund comes from Estate of Charles A. Repplier deceased, of Philadelphia, to whom had been entrusted the fundsfrom Estate of William Haggerty, deceased; and adjudicated by O. C. of Phila [Orphan's Court of Philadelphia] to Teresa M. Haggerty ------- ----------.
The said intestate was possessed of Goods...to the value of $108.99 and [no real estate]."
Abstracted by compiler from photo-copy obtained from Berks County.6 - Note*: On 4 Sept 1862 Theresa M. Repplier of Reading, widow of William Hagerty, late of the Borough of Pottsville, deceased, petitioned the Orphan's Court of Schuylkill County. In her petition she stated that William Hagerty made his last will and testament on 20 February 1845, and that he died on 9 March 1845, and that the will constituted herself executrix and a Charles Miller executor, and that Charles Miller was William Haggerty's business partner at the time of Haggerty's death, and that on 20 Dec 1847 Miller settled an account with the Register's Office showing $7,244.64 due the estate. The point of the petition was that Miller was to have invested the amount in securities and pay Theresa the interest, but he had not. The court removed Miller as executor; Miller was insolvent. The estate file does not indicate the outcome, and contains nothing to indicate that Theresa received any of the estate.7
