Notes
- Note*: Abstract of marriage certificate in Abington records: David Lukens of twp. of Horsham, co. of Philadelphia, son of William Lukens of same place, and Sarah Lloyd of the Manor of Moreland, dau. of Samuel Lloyd of same place. Having declared intentions at Abington meeting and having consent of parents and parties concerned. Married 20th day of 12th month 1776 at Horsham Meeting House. First witnesses: William Lukens, Elizabeth Lukens, Samuel Lloyd, Sarah Lloyd.2
- Note: "In 1829 came the Hicksite separation. Among the members of Horsham Monthly Meeting who were listed as 'Seceding Members to Orthodox' were 'Samuel Lukens and Father." [citing Horsham Meeting Records]
They both then appear in records of Abington Monthly Meeting (Orthodox Branch).5 - Note: David Lukens is listed in the militia roles of Capt. Marpole's 5th co., 1st Battalion. He apparently paid fines for some non-service.
