  • Note*: "m. (1) 2-23-1701, at Lower Bentham, Yorkshire, Elizabeth Battersbie; m. (2) ----- Emme -----. He brought a certificate from the monthly meeting of Sedbergh, in Yorkshire, which was received by Middletown Mo. Mtg., 11-1-1718. He represented Wrightstown Preparative Meeting at Middletown Mo. Mtg., in 1724, and in the same year was appointed to attend Quarterly Meeting. He and his wife Emme were witnesses to a number of marriages; they were living in 1754, when they were both provided for in the will of Adam Harker."1
  • Note: A James Harker requested a certificate from the Middletown Monthly Meeting in Bucks Co. to Chester Monthly Meeting in Delaware Co., 12th mo. 1723/24, and produced the certificate at Chester Monthly Meeting 2nd mo. 1724. This may or may not be the same James Harker as named in the will of Adam Harker.3,4
