Notes
- Note*: "Peter Mattson, alias Peter Dalbo, was born in New Sweden in 1647. When the first English patent was issued for Widow Dalbo's Kingsessing plantation in 1671, it was issued in the name of Peter Dalbo, her eldest son.
"On 16 February 1674 Peter Mattson married Catharina Rambo, daughter of Peter Gunnarsson Rambo. They settled on new land adjoining her father's plantation in Passyunk, on the east side of the Schuylkill, where they lived for ten years. In 1684, however, they moved to Little Mantua Creek in Gloucester Co., which remained their home until Peter's death in 1699. He was survived by his wife and nine children."2 - Note: Land transactions:
"1684 April 10. [Mem. of Deed of Trust. Samuel Jenings and Thomas Budd, for public account, under power of attorney from the General Assembly,] to Peter Dalboe of Schorekil, Penna., for 200 acres in one of the Six Lower Tenths of the Province." (NJA 21:403)
"1685 4th m. (June). [Return of survey,] for Peter Dalboe, of 100 a. at the head of Little Mantoes Creek." (NJA 21:358)
"1689 Sept. 11. [Deed] Thomas Gardiner junior of near Woodbury Creek, Gloucester Co., yeoman, to Peter Mattson of Little Manto Cr., said Co, yeoman, for 50 acres of the 1,150 a. tract bought by grantor's father of Thomas Matthews November 10, 1686 (supra, p. 20), and by him assigned to his son November 12." (NJA 21:653)6 - Note: "Peter Matson alias Dalbo (1647-1701) was one of the two Representatives from the Fourth Tenth (present Gloucester County) at the General Assembly of the Province of West New Jersey at Burlington, 12th of 3rd month (May) 1685, having been 'chosen by the free people of the said Province' in accordance with the Act of November 25, 1681, erecting the said General Assembly. He was the first Swede so elected. He appears in the minutes again in 1697 as a member of the House of Representatives at Burlington, May 20th."4
- Note: "Mr. Rudman, anxious for a speedy and accurate knowledge of his congregation, formed in 1697 and 1698 a list of all the families, and classed them in local districts. ...

- Note: Note that George P. Walmsley's account varies, stating that Peter Mattsson was born in Sweden in 1647, son of Matts Mattsson, and that Matts Mattsson was the brother of Johan Mattsson who first came to New Sweden in 1644, and that Matts Mattsson and his wife and child Peter left Sweden in 1655, and built in the Raccoon Creek area of West Jersey between 1658 and 1659. The location of Peter's marriage to Catherine Rambo is given as 'probably' the church at New Gothenburg (Tinicum).8
