Notes

  • Note*: David Moore of West Chester, Chester County, Pennsylvania was the son of Judge James Moore and the cousin of brothers William Moore of Reading and Samuel Moore of Lebanon. In an 1800 deed he was called an attorney at law, and in later deeds 'Esquire'.

David and William appear together in various deeds and probates, which are cited below.

No evidence of his birth, death, or any marriage were found by this compiler, nor of children. The only deed that might name a wife, a mortgage in 1806, does not. He died intestate, but the only record appears to be the administrators bond, by James Moore, who could be his brother or not.
  • Note: On 9 June 1820 William Moore of the Borough of Reading merchant assigned to John Reynolds of the City of Lancaster gentleman a debt of $7000 and interest owed to William Moore by David Moore of Chester County on a bond given by David Moore for money advanced to David Moore by William Moore. William Moore also gave power of attorney to John Reynolds to collect this assigned debt. This assignment was made in consideration of and for the better securing the payment of £2276.8.6 and interest from 22 Dec 1819 owed by William Moore to John Reynolds.
