Genealogy of Edgar Scudder Cook and his wife Josephine Bailey

This website contains data on the direct ancestors of Edgar Scudder Cook and his wife Josephine Bailey, and their daughter-in-law Mary Repplier.  For most ancestors there is also information on the ancestors' siblings and other spouses, and on some more extended families.

The research goal has been to trace their ancestors back to those who first immigrated to America.  See the tabs "Immigrant Ancestors" and "Dead Ends".

The research emphasis has been on identifying ancestors with some degree of certainty.  So information on the website is firstly evidence of relationships.  More biographical information can be found in the cited sources and by internet searches.

Also presented here are the descendants of James and Hannah Whitall, immigrants to Gloucester County, New Jersey, in 1686.  All known descendants are listed for five generations or more.  In addition many colonial era non-relative Whitalls are listed; see the note on James Whitall's page.

Also presented here are the Biles of early New Jersey, descendants of brothers William and Charles Biles, particularly in Hunterdon and Burlington counties and in Trenton, researched in the course of a search for the ancestors of  Martha Biles.  See notes on the earliest Alexander Biles' page.

Sources are cited for nearly everything.  All major sources for a person are cited at least once; some cited sources contain much more information than presented here.  Copies of some source materials are on this website and can be linked to from end-note citations or from the Sources pages.  Copies of some other source materials are available on request.

Direct ancestors are marked with a tree symbol, making it easier to navigate through children.

An earlier version of this database is on Ancestry.com in tree "Moore Prendergast Cook Repplier Tree".
