  • Note: Please see John George Haggerty in this database. Jacob Lancaster Repplier and he were first cousins, as Haggerty's mother, Teresa M. Repplier, was the sister of Jacob Lancaster Repplier's father. After his Civil War service Jacob Lancaster Repplier was in the state of Washington, accompanied in part by Haggerty (per the Hanson biography). Haggerty became a business partner with H.B Mitchell at Harrisburg, selling coal. Upon Haggerty's death, Jacob Lancaster Repplier become Mitchell's new partner. And next, Jacob Lancaster Repplier married Haggerty's widow, Sidney T. Berghaus Haggerty. Of Haggerty's three children, two were probably alive when the Reppliers later moved to Reading.
  • Note: Jacob Lancaster Repplier served in the Civil War as a corporal in Company A of the 128th Regiment, Pennsylvania. During that nine months his regiment engaged in major battles at Antietam Creek 17 Sept 1862 and at Chancellorsville 2-3 May 1863, experiencing severe losses. See Samuel P.
