  • Note: Abstract of marriage certificate: Thomas Bayley Junr of the Township of Makefield in the County of Bucks and Mercy Lucas of the Falls Township, having declared intentions at monthly meeting at Falls, having consent of parents and relations, married 8th day of 9th month 1732 at Falls meeting. First witnesses: Thomas Bayley, Edward Lucas.2
  • Note*: Falls Monthly Meeting 7th of 2nd mo 1731: "Thomas and Edward Bayley two sons of Thomas Bayley Requested to be Joyned in Society with friends therefore this meeting appoints Edward Lucas & Jonathan Palmer to Enquire how their Conversation hath been hither & make Rep: to next meeting."

    Meeting 5th of 3rd mo 1731: "The friends appointed to Enquire into the Conversation of Thomas & Edward Bayley Report they have Enquired & find Nothing but of Late they have behaved themselves orderly whereupon this meeting Concurs with their Request."3

    1729 & 1734: Trustees of the General Loan Office on 15 October 1734, in consideration of £104, granted to Thomas Baily, son of Thomas Bayly deceased, as the highest bidder at public sale, two tracts of land, one of 280 acres situated in Falls Twp., and the other of 275 acres situated in Makefield Twp.. Both tracts had been mortgaged to the General Loan Office by Thomas Bayly, the father, on 15 October 1729 in consideration of £200. Thomas Bayly the father, or Thomas and Edward Baily, his sons and the executors of his will, had defaulted on the conditions of the mortgage. Both tracts are described by metes and bounds; the 280 acres Falls Twp. tract adjoined lands of John Darks and John Webster; the 275 acre tract in Makefield Twp. adjoined lands of Andrew Elliot and Thomas Gil[?].     1761: Marcy Baly, relect of Thomas Baly yeoman deceased late of the falls in Bucks Co., Edward Baly and his wife Ann, John Baly and Mary Baly, all of the falls, granted on 10th day of 10th month 1761 to Joseph White of the falls, weaver, a tract of 20 acres situated in Falls Twp. part of a tract of 280 acres which James McComb and Grace his wife granted by deed dated 24 Sept 1729 to Thomas Baly, who mortgaged these 280 acres with other lands to the General Loan Office and some time later died. The Loan Office by deed dated 15 October 1734 granted the 280 acres to Thomas Baly, son of Thomas Baly the deceased mortgager, as highest bidder at public sale. Thomas Baly, father of Edward, John and Mary Baly, died intestate. Recorded 21 Sept. 1770, Bucks Co. Bk 13, pp. 285-287. Abstracted by the compiler. Viewed on FHL # 172878.

    1765: John Baily of the Falls and Edith his wife and Mary Baily, spinster, children of Thomas Baly late of the Falls deceased, granted on 15 May 1765 to Edward Baily, eldest son of said Thomas Baily deceased, yeoman, in consideration of £310, their portion, two fifth parts, of a tract of 257 acres and 70 perches situated in Falls Twp.. The land was part of a 280 acre tract granted 24 Sept. 1729 by James McComb and Grace his wife to Thomas Baly. Thomas Baily mortgaged the 280 acres to the General Loan Office and died. For default in payments the General Loan Office sold the tract at public sale to the highest bidder, Thomas Baily, eldest son of Thomas Baly deceased, and father of said Edward, John and Mary Baily. Thomas Baily the son sold 20 acres to Joseph White and soon thereafter died intestate, whereupon the right of the 257 acres & 70 perches descended upon Edward, John & Mary Baly. The tract was described by metes and bounds, and adjoined lads of Robert Lucas, John Webster, Joseph White, Thomas Cornish and Samuel Carry. Recorded May 11, 1776, Bucks Co. Bk 18, pp. 262-265.
