Notes

  • Note:
  • Note: "Nathan paid muster fines to Capt. Jacob Loughlin's company of Lower Dublin township militia during the years 1777-1779. Later he was a private in the Eighth Company, Second Battalion, commanded by Capt. Joseph Dearman. This was probably during the year 1780. (Archives, Third, Vol. V., pp. 384-390, and Sixth, Vol. I, p. 705.)"4
  • Note*: Land:
    - Immediately after marriage his father gave Nathan the family homestead & 25 acres surrounding it (Deed book H 19, p. 206). Nathan and Ester lived on this portion for the remainder of their lives.
    - In 1765, Nathan received an additional adjoining 67 1/2 acres, in the settlement of Jonathan's estate.
    - The two parcels were bounded on the south-east for 59 rods by the line of Verree Road extended to Cottman street, and had a frontage of 177 rods along Cottman street westward from the intersection. [Philadelphia Co.]
    - In 1768 Nathan purchased 40 acres in Oxford township; which were sold in 1783 to Jacob Myers (Deed book GS 37, pp. 503-505).
    - In 1783 Nathan purchased 282 acres of the original Livezey plantation from his cousin Thomas Livezey.
    - In 1794 Nathan sold 93 acres to his son-in-law William Bailey.
    - In 1804 he distributed the greater part of the 282 acres to his sons.
    - In 1815 he made a second distribution, leaving a 6 acre plot on which his house stood.4
  • Note: Abington Meeting Minutes:
In October 1763 a complaint was recorded "of Nathan Livezey and wife for improper conduct before marriage". They submitted a paper acknowledging and condemning their misconduct. The paper was read at Abington Meeting May 1764.

February 1768 it was reported that Nathan Livezey had corrected a servant girl too severely. The investigating committee found unanimously "that the correction he gave to the servant girl was very unbecoming and with too much severity, and that he ought to condemn the same". He gave an acknowledgement which was read before the Abington Meeting June 1768.

In October 1772 Nathan Livezey's sister Sarah Livezey complained to Abington Meeting regarding a debt he owed to her. He made satisfaction after some delays by March 1773.5
