Notes

  • Note*: "The timber by this time was grown to a good size, straight and handsome. We are told that Job Walton split 3600 rails in one week, the logs being cut off for him, and the wood of the best kind for working easy."8
  • Note: "Job, married Agnes, daughter of Thomas Walmsley, and settled where Nathaniel Richardson now lives. He had a strong constitution and performed a great deal of hard work, yet did not get rich. He sometimes preached at Byberry."3
  • Note: "Minutes of Abington Mtg 11.25.1754 say Byberry complains of Job Walton for drinking and taking it upon himself to preach while drunk. 12.30.1754 he requested forbearance. 11.24.1755 he still drinks to excess. One month later he was disowned and 1.26.1756 Job Sr had declined to appeal and the testification was to be read at Byberry Mtg."2
