  • Note: A Thomas Whiteall and a Mary Tell were married on the 2nd month 18 day 1723 at the First Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia.

The Haddonfield Meeting minutes of 3rd month 1725, as abstracted by Stewart, record the marriage out of meeting of Thomas Whiteall. Presumably this is the same Thomas Whiteall as married in Philadelphia. Stewart abstracted no entry for a Mary or Margaret Whiteall.

Nicholson suggests that Mary Till may have been the same person as widow Margaret of Thomas Whiteall's 1728 will.

Meldrum's compilation of Haddonfield Meeting going out in marriage records states "3rd mo, 1725. Thomas Whiteall and Margaret Till, dau of John and Margaret Till, m. at First Presbyterian Church at Philadelphia, 2nd mo, 18th da, 1723." Presumably the Haddonfield record does not contain all that detail. But Meldrum's use of the name 'Margaret' reinforces the possibility that Thomas Whiteall of the 1725 marriage may have been the same person who had the 1728 will.3,4,5,6
