  • Note*: "John Reeder, reputed to be from County Norfolk, Endland, was in Springfield, Massachusetts, in 1636, one of the original settlers, and had a grant of land there: in 1639, he was in New Haven and signed the 'Fundamental Agreement' there on June 4, 1639, and his name appears on the New Haven list of 'Planters' in 1643, as John Reeder, two in family, which is the last record of him there: he was in Stratford in 1650 and had a home lot there, No. 10 on Main Street, which was transferred to David Mitchell in 1659: his name appears on the freeholder list of Newtown in 1656 [and] 1660 and...1666 appears the name of 'widow Reeder' "3
