  • Note*: "Son of Nathaniel. Lived in Kensington. Farmer. Known as Deacon John. Held nearly all town offices but was moderator nearly every year from 1738 to his death...John and Abigail were dismissed from the Hampton Falls church to Kensington Oct. 4, 1737.
    Will of John Bachelder of parish of Kensington, deacon, Feb. 27, 1748/9 - Apr. 25, 1753, mentions wife Abigail, son Nathan, sons Daniel and Benjamin, daughter Mary Sanborn, son-in-law Joseph Shaw who married my daughter Elizabeth, daughter Abigail Shaw, daughter Deborah Sherburne, daughter Ruth Lane, daughter Elizabeth Bachelder under age and unmarried."3
  • Note: The ancestors of John Batchelder have not been researched by the author of this database, nor posted to this database. John's paternal line is fairly well known, as his second great grandfather was Reverend Stephen Bachiler.     John's mother Elizabeth is said by family tradition to be Elizabeth Foss of Rye. But the Brage manuscript points out the lack of evidence.
