  • Note*: "He was a farmer, carpenter and cabinet maker, a superior workman. Resided in Hampton till abt. 1762 when he removed to Poplin (now Fremont) near to Epping, to the Sanborn farm, plain and meadow, occupied in 1890 by Jn. M. Fitts, his great-great-grandson. They belonged to the Congregational church in Hampton and removed their relations to the church in Epping, under the care of Rev. Josiah Stearns, whose son John m. their dau. Sarah."2

  • Note: Will of Joshua Lane of Poplin, joiner, dated 16 Mar 1787, proved 29 Jan 1794. To beloved wife Ruth use of one half of real estate, one half of live stock and husbandry utensils. To my two eldest sons John and Joshua £5 each, besides what already given them. To my four daughters Mary Norris, Abigail Eastman, Ruth Fogg, and Sarah Stearns, $1 each, besides what already given them. Remainder of estate, real and personal, to my youngest son Isaiah. Executors wife Ruth and son Isaiah. Inventory made 31 March 1794; real estate, 57 acres in Poplin, £342.0.0; personal estate, £170.12.7, included among other things, joiner tools, a watch, books. Recorded Rockingham County, New Hampshire, case 5962.7
